The purpose of this study is to learn what you think about a recent story in which university student employees accused the spouse of a college president of sexual misconduct. After you read a newspaper article summary of the events, we will ask you your opinions about what should happen next. You were selected because we interested in students' opinions about this event. If you choose to participate, you must be 18 years of age or older, and we expect the questionnaire to take approximately 20 minutes to complete. There are no right or wrong answers to any of the questions that we will ask you. We are interested in your honest opinions and attitudes. However, if one or more questions request information that you wish not to provide, please skip the question(s). Your participation is voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time. If you wish to withdraw, simply stop completing the questions. No personal information will be collected, and all answers will remain anonymous. We hope to share aggregate results from this project with colleagues as part of professional publications and presentations, and a summary of these data may be posted on the Open Sciences Framework for at least ten years post any publication.

If your instructor offered you extra credit for research participation, at the end of this survey, you will have an opportunity to enter your name, class, and instructor's name in a second survey. We will delete all information from this second survey as soon as we send attendance information to instructors at the end of the semester. Any information that is obtained in connection with this study that can be identified with you will remain confidential and will be disclosed only with your permission or as required by law.

Your decision whether or not to participate will not affect your current and/or future relations with Sonoma State University. There are no other direct benefits associated with this research project.
